ABOUT US
Established first as an art gallery in 2022, Chris and Harriet added the wine shop and bar to The Halland in July 2023. After a brilliant first summer season, they were delighted to continue that success into autumn, Christmas and beyond. Now offering winter picture framing, gifting and events - this little business on the Seaview High Street has big ambitions for the future.THE TEAM
THE HALLAND
Christopher Jelf
Chris curates our art collection - only choosing pieces he absolutely loves - and we regularly receive new work to refresh and replace our exhibitions. He’s also fast-becoming a wine ‘buff’ and loves introducing new bottles to The Halland’s shelves.
Chris’s picture-framing skills are receiving Island-wide - and beyond - acclaim as he can restore, stretch and bespoke and hand-finish frame - really bringing any work of art to life.
Acclaimed as one of Tatler’s best ‘society wedding photographers’, Chris’s ‘day job’ takes him all around the UK and the world photographing big events, family portraiture and other photographic commissions.

Harriet Hadfield
Harriet has given herself the key job description of ‘Chief of Tidying Up’. She handles the ordering, delivery and hospitality sections of the business.
As a journalist and broadcaster, with a keen interest in politics, Harriet also runs an innovative digital content production company called Island Stories - with a podcast, email newsletter, and Media/Marketing arm to the business as well.
Having spent much of her childhood here, Harriet moved back in 2020 to live near her parents, buying her grandmother’s house on the Seaview High Street - just two doors down from The Halland - and loves the way the business allows her to mix family and work.
